It just didn’t go as planned.
Greenville just could not curtail the time-consuming veer offense of Stanford (Olympia) as the Comets fell to Spartans 40-20 at Don Stout Field in the second round of the IHSA Class 3A playoffs Saturday afternoon.
Olympia lifted their record to 9-2 on the year and will host Roxana (11-0) this Saturday in the quarterfinals. The Shells were a 48-47 second-round winner over St. Joseph-Ogden.
