Greenville used a smothering defense and a big third-quarter run to earn the crown over Roxana 46-26 at the Class 2A East Alton (Wood River) Regional on Friday.
The win moves GHS to 21-11 and into the Newton Sectional tonight where they face Lawrenceville at 7 p.m. The Indians are 25-8 after beating Mt. Carmel 51-32 for their own regional title.
