Synder Pennington had a monster day at the plate, but he wasn’t the only one.

Five Greenville University Panthers had multiple hit games Tuesday evening at Robert “Ish” Smith Field as they hammered Blackburn 15-6 to move to 5-0 in SLIAC play.

GU (11-10) heads to Louisville, Kentucky, to square off with one of the preseason SLIAC favorites, Spalding, this weekend.

“Conditions were very interesting as they can be at times out at Robert E Smith Field with the wind blowing straight out to left field at 25 mph,” said GU coach Lynn Carlson. “Our pitchers were outstanding, not allowing a single walk or hit-by-pitch. Got a couple of big homers from Snyder Pennington to help our offense secure the win. It was a good day.” For more information see the April 7, 2023 edition of The Greenville Advocate.
