Greenville’s tennis team ran into a couple of difficult matches to finish their week.

They fell by identical 7-2 scores to Newton and Effingham (St. Anthony).

St. Anthony:

GHS traveled to Effingham on May 5 where they were unable to put up much of a fight against the Bulldogs.

Comet Aidan Andris dropped a 6-0, 6-1 decision to Manaye Mossman at No. 1 singles while Elusha Golovay fell 6-0, 6-0 to Adam Rudibaugh.

At No. 3 singles, Carter Manhart lost 6-2, 6-2 to Evan Mossman, and Tayshawn Wells got beat by Adam Tegeler 6-3, 6-1.

In the final singles matches, Ivan Powell and Camden Walker played three-set matches.

Powell was the only GHS singles winner, taking a 5-7, 6-2, 10-7 win over Conner Eggers. For more information see the May 9, 2023 edition of The Greenville Advocate.
