They almost pulled one out on opening day
But they just couldn’t hold the lead.
Mulberry Grove got a two-run double off the bat of Jackson Icenogle in the top of the sixth inning to take a 4-3 lead but gave it back in the bottom half as Carlyle put up a big inning and went on to beat the Aces 6-4 on Tuesday.
“It was our very first game of the season and we’re knocking some rust off but I’m very proud of the boys for putting up a fight and not giving up,” said MG coach Kevin Millikin. “We learned about some things we need to work on. It’s nice to see the work that we’ve been putting in come to life.” For more information see the March 17, 2023 edition of The Greenville Advocate.
