In the quarterfinals of the CORL Winterfest Tournament just outside of Centralia, undefeated McLeansboro (Hamilton County) outscored the Lady Comets in every quarter to take a 46-22 win.
GHS only trailed 13-9 after one quarter but the Foxes pulled away by halftime leading 24-13.
“I thought we came out with really good energy, but their defensive pressure bothered us a bit early on,” said GHS coach Quin Hammann. “They were able to make some shots to build a lead and we had to play catch-up and just couldn’t make enough plays to get back in the game.” For more information see the December 30, 2022 edition of The Greenville Advocate.
