The Clothing Closet began in 2018 at the First Baptist Church as an event for students to get prom dresses. Their Fall Give-away began in 2019, but then was open by appointment only. In fall of 2021, after being closed due to COVID-19, there was another Fall Give-away. The Clothing Closet now provides those in the community, and several surrounding counties in need with free children’s clothes and adult clothes when available, and other items. As of Oct. 1, 2023, they have helped 724 individuals or families. Pictured are, from left: Brenda Coster, Deb Mullen, Kathy Voyles, and Berniece Wachal.
