Legacy Sound, a popular Southern gospel/Christian country band will appear at 6 p.m. Saturday, April 22, at Woburn Baptist Church.
Two of the group, Emmett and Melody Dayka McKenzie, lived in Greenville for many years and sang with other family members as the McKenzies.
They currently live in the Glen Carbon/Maryville area. Drummer Roger Matthews toured with various Christian bands for 45 years before retiring. He told the Advocate he just felt “It was time to get another group together and to get back on the road singing solid gospel.” For more information see the April 18, 2023 edition of The Greenville Advocate.
