Mulberry Grove Fire responds to truck fire

On Tuesday, March 21, the Mulberry Grove Fire Protection District, Fayette County Sheriff’s Department and deputies, responded to a report of a vehicle fire. The district was dispatched at 4:07 p.m. to 300 Ave., just south of the Ridge Road intersection in rural Vandalia.

Firefighters arrived on scene to find a Ford F150 along the side of the road fully engulfed in flames. The vehicle was unoccupied. Firefighters extinguished the fire and then returned to service after the vehicle was towed. The cause of the fire is still under investigation. Seven firefighters were on scene for approximately one hour, and there were no injuries.
