Lights so bright

Christmas day is drawing closer and closer, at a speed that even the most experienced time traveler would say is too fast. While there is nothing we can do to slow down time, there are ways we can use this time to our advantage.

Around this time of year, school is out, and many people are taking the vacation they saved up during the year. Families are home and want to make some holiday memories. One of the ways that my family has done this over the years is going to look at Christmas lights.

When my sister and I were little, we would eagerly count down the days until Santa would arrive. Naturally, we were very excited about his visit and talked about it constantly. Our parents knew we would be bouncing off the walls if we stayed inside the house too long, so they would take us to see Christmas lights in the evenings.

We would all pile in the car and head out to Woburn to see the displays. A sense of wonder filled my mind as I gazed at the colorful lights hung high in the trees, with one question on my mind, how in the world did they get up there?
