Local chorus celebrates ten years of making music

Heartland Community Chorus has something to celebrate — their tenth anniversary! The group, based in Highland, first auditioned singers in August of 2013, and immediately after, prepared their first concert, a Christmas show. Since then the group has grown from twenty-four members to over forty-strong. The singers range in age from 20-somethings to 80-somethings, and they hail from Pocahontas, Highland, St. Rose, Troy, Trenton, Edwardsville, Glen Carbon, Marine, Breese, and Aviston. Their mission is to promote and preserve the tradition of choral music for the cultural enrichment of the Metro East Region.
