Amanda Bodi, October Weiss, Diane Griffith, and Katie McCall have come together to form a non-profit organization called the Pocahontas Revive and Thrive Tribe. Their mission statement is to “promote a community atmosphere by bringing our residents together through local events that will generate revenue and assist in the cost of maintaining our village needs.”

What they plan to do is hold events that are open to the public to raise money for projects around the community. “We were trying to come up with a way that we could have fun, and help our residents,” McCall stated. The group wanted a way to help out the village where they might be lacking funds to complete certain projects.

The Halloween party will be their first event, to be held on Oct. 20, from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the village square in Pocahontas. They are seeking candy donations. You can check their Facebook page by searching Revive and Thrive Tribe, for more information.
