The GJHS Blue Jays baseball team defeated Vandalia, 10-0, to secure a spot in the IESA 3A regionals semifinals in Effingham.
The team had a very successful regular season. Heading into the tournament, the team finished the regular season with a 13-4-2 record. They earned the third seed, drawing a matchup against the sixth-seed Vandals.
After a quiet first inning for both sides, Greenville got the ball rolling in the bottom of the second. The Jays’ dynamic offense produced nine runs, placing the game in the Blue Jays’ favor.
