A Senior Moment

Back in 1968 Steppenwolf suggested that we take “A Magic Carpet Ride.” Let’s assume they were talking about reading … Books give us a magic carpet to go anywhere.

Library director Jo Keillor spoke at the Senior Center recently about library benefits for seniors (and youngsters). The most obvious — and the best — is a library card. If you live in Greenville, the card is free; outside the city, it’s just $40 a year. You can check out any book in our library, and you can access 10 million more through the Illinois Heartland Library System! We need to get busy. You can order books through your phone or computer, or you can stop in at the library and have the staff help you.
