The National Association of Letter Carriers (NALC) sponsor the 31st annual “Stamp Out Hunger” drive on Saturday, May 13, the second Saturday in May.
All they ask of the rest of us is that, on Saturday, before your postal carrier arrives, put a bag of healthy, non-perishable food by your mailbox. Then let them pick the bags up and deliver them to local food banks and pantries.
The NALC National Food Drive is the outgrowth of a tradition of community service exhibited repeatedly by members of the letter carriers union over the years.
