Due to space limitations, I was unable to bring any news about the IHSA football semifinals so I will add that to my article about the state football championships that were decided this past weekend at Hancock Stadium on the campus of Illinois State University in Normal.
Beginning in the class the football Comets compete in the top team in Class 3A all season was Byron and they showed why as they completely dismantled Mt. Carmel 69-7 for the state championship. Yes, that score is correct.
