Court cases resolved for July

The following cases were prosecuted and resolved by Bond county’s State’s Attorney during July.

July 10, 2023

Scott H. Wharton, Greenville, pled guilty to Driving under the Influence of Alcohol, Illegal Transportation of Alcohol, and Failure to Reduce Speed, which occurred on Jan. 27, 2023. Wharton was sentenced to a 24-month Order of Probation, alternative charges of Driving Under the Influence of Alcohol and Operating an Uninsured Motor Vehicle was dismissed as part of the plea agreement.

July 12, 2023

Darryl G. Henke, Sorento, pled guilty to Driving under the Influence of Alcohol and Illegal Transportation of Alcohol which occurred on Dec. 14, 2022. Henke was sentenced to a 12-month Order of Probation, a charge of Failure to Reduce Speed was dismissed as part of the plea agreement.

Asa C. Green, Pocahontas, pled guilty to Leaving the Scene and Improper Passing which occurred on April 14, 2023. He was sentenced to a 12-month Order of Supervision for Leaving the Scene and a conviction was entered for the Improper Passing Charge

Ricardo E. Medina, Pierron, pled guilty to two counts of Aggravated Battery which occurred on May 23, 2023. Medina was sentenced to a 30-month Order of Probation which included 120 days of incarceration. Two alternative counts of Aggravated Battery were dismissed as part of the plea agreement.

July 13, 2023

Cory S. Budnicki, Smithboro, pled guilty to an Unlawful Restraint charge which occurred on Sept. 28, 2021. He was sentenced to two years in the Department of Corrections, followed by six months Mandatory Supervised Release. A charge of Aggravated Domestic Battery was dismissed as part of the plea agreement. The sentence will be served concurrently with the sentence he is currently serving in the Department of Corrections for Driving While License Revoked — Enhanced. Additionally, Budnicki pled guilty to a Disorderly Conduct charge which occurred on Nov. 3, 2021, and was sentenced to 30 days incarceration. A charge of Resisting a Peace Officer was dismissed as part of the plea agreement.

Amanda Gaybill, Highland, pled guilty to a Burglary to a Motor Vehicle charge which occurred on April 1. She was sentenced to two years in the Department of Corrections, followed by six months Mandatory Supervised Release.

Adam L. Bone, Mulberry Grove, admitted to a Violation of an Order of Probation with the original charge being Unlawful Methamphetamine Delivery, Unlawful Possession of Controlled Substance and Obstructing Justice which occurred on May 1, 2022. Bone was re-sentenced to four years, six months in the Department of Corrections on the unlawful Methamphetamine Delivery charge and two years, six months in the Department of Corrections for the Unlawful Possession of Controlled Substance and Obstructing Justice charges. The sentences will run concurrently. Bone previously pled guilty on June 1, 2022, and was sentenced to a 48 month order of Probation. A Petition to Revoke Probation was filed on Feb. 10.

Virginia A. Koontz, Vandalia, admitted to a Violation of an Order of Probation with the original charge being Unlawful Methamphetamine Possession which occurred on April 17, 2022. Koonce was re-sentenced to a 24 month Order of Probation. She had previously pled guilty on Sept. 7, 2022, and was sentenced to a 24 month Order of Probation. A Petition to Revoke Probation was filed on Feb. 14, 2023.

Tiffany R. Cameron, Highland, pled guilty to an amended charge of Theft — Subsequent Offense which occurred on April 1. She was sentenced to a 24 month Order of Probation. The original charge was Burglary to a Motor Vehicle.

July 19

Michael L. Clark, Greenville, pled guilty to an amended charge of Criminal Sexual Abuse which occurred on Oct. 1, 1996. He was sentenced to a 24 month Sex Offender Order of Probation. The original charge of Aggravated Criminal Sexual Abuse, a second count of Aggravated Criminal Sexual Abuse was dismissed as part of the plea agreement.

Norman S. Looney, Collinsville, admitted to a Violation of an Order of Probation with the original charge being Unlawful Possession of a Stolen Motor Vehicle which occurred on Sept. 4, 2021. He was resentenced to three years in the Department of Corrections, followed by one year of Mandatory Supervised Release. He had previously pled guilty on Sept. 15, 2021 and was sentenced to a 36 month Order of Probation. A Petition to Revoke Probation was filed on Feb. 1. Additionally Looney pled guilty for a charge of Driving while License Revoked which occurred on July 5, 2022. He was sentenced to 10 days incarceration.

July 24

Blake H. Mummel, Sorento, pled guilty to a charge of Leaving the Scene of an Accident and Failure to Reduce Speed, which occurred on May 15. He was sentenced to a 12 month Order of Probation for the Failure to Reduce Speed charge and a conviction was entered for the Leaving the Scene charge.

Marcus M. Walker, Greenville, pled guilty to a charge of Driving While License Suspended which occurred May 16. He was sentenced to a 12 month Order of Conditional Discharge.
