Last year, the Greenville High School girls tennis team had their best season ever, going 17-3 overall in match play. The squad won the Central Illinois Open hosted by Springfield (Sacred Heart-Griffin) and the South Central Conference tournament title.
They also took several second and third place finishes at other tournaments.
Three Lady Comets qualified for state including the doubles duo of Ellie Schaufleberger and Katelyn Ridens along with singles qualifier Paige Mathias.
In total, GHS had seven seniors graduate off last year’s squad. Six return for another go at the SCC.
