Court cases resolved for June

The following court cases were prosecuted and resolved by Bond County State’s Attorney Dora J. Mann in the month of June.

June 1

Evan J. Ibrahim of Sterling Heights, Michigan entered a plea of guilty to an amended assault charge which occurred April 12, 2023. He was sentenced to an Order of Conditional Discharge for a term of 12 months.

Michael S. Long of Vandalia, admitted to a Violation of an Order of Probation with the original charge being Unlawful Methamphetamine Possession which occurred on July 17, 2022. Long was re-sentenced to a 24 month Order of Probation. He had previously pleaded guilty on Nov. 17, 2022 and was sentenced to a 24 month Order of Probation. A Petition to Revoke Probation was filed on Jan. 3, 2023.

June 7

Connor A. Simpson of Sorento, pleaded guilty to a charge of Obstructing Justice, Violation of Stalking No Contact Order and an amended charge of Battery which occurred on June 25, 2022. He was sentenced to a 24 month Second Chance Order of Probation for the Obstructing Justice charge and an 18-month Order of Probation for the charges of Violation of Stalking, No Contact Order and Battery. Additionally, Connor pleaded guilty to the charge of Driving Under the Influence of Cannabis which occurred on June 6, 2022, and was sentenced to an Order of Supervision for the term of 24 months. Mr. Connor also pleaded guilty to a Violation of Stalking No Contact Order which occurred on July 13, 2022, and was sentenced to an 18 month Order of Probation.

June 8

Jeffrey A. Rasler, II of Greenville, entered a plea of guilty to Involuntary Manslaughter, Aggravated Fleeing or Attempting to Elude a Peace Officer — Enhanced Offense, Unlawful Possession of Controlled Substance, and Driving While License Revoked — Enhanced Offense which occurred on Nov. 8, 2022. He was sentenced to 10 years in the Illinois Departments of Corrections followed by 6 months Mandatory Supervised Release. Additionally, Rasler admitted to a Violation of an Order of Probation with the original charge being Driving While License Revoked-Enhanced Offense which occurred on May 17, 2019. He was re-sentenced to six years Illinois Department of Corrections followed by six months Mandatory Supervised Release. He had previously pleaded guilty on Dec. 19, 2019, and was sentenced to a 24 month Order of Probation. A Petition to Revoke Probation was filed on Aug. 11, 2020 and Dec. 13, 2022. All sentences will be served concurrently with one another.

June 14

John F. Etcheson of Greenville, admitted to a Violation of an Order of Probation. After a contested resentencing, Mr. Etcheson was re-sentenced to 5 years in the Illinois Departments of Corrections followed by one year Mandatory Supervised Release. Additionally, Mr. Etcheson admitted to a Violation of an Order of Probation with the original charge being Unlawful Possession Methamphetamine Delivery which occurred on Jan. 27, 2023. After a contested resentencing, Mr. Etcheson was resentenced to four years in the Illinois Departments of Corrections followed by 6 months Mandatory Supervised Release. He had previously plead guilty on March 2, 2023 and was sentenced to a 24 month Order of Probation, a petition to revoke was filed on March 21, 2023. Both sentences will be served concurrent with each other.

June 15

Brittany R. White of Litchfield, admitted to a Violation of an Order of Probation with the original charge being Unlawful Methamphetamine Possession which occurred on Aug. 9, 2021. Ms. White was re-sentenced to four years in the Illinois Department of Corrections followed by six months Mandatory Supervised Release.

Jason E. Fenton of Greenville, Illinois, entered a plea of guilty to an amended charge of Sexual Exploitation of a Minor which occurred on March 7, 2023. He was sentenced to a 24 month Sex Offender Order of Probation.

June 21

Michael T. Lyons, IV of Irving, Illinois entered a plea of guilty to Driving While License Revoked and Leaving the Scene of an Accident which occurred on Sept. 7, 2022. He was sentenced to a 24 month Order of Probation.

Henry D. Wilson of Mt. Olive, Illinois entered a plea of guilty to Unlawful Methamphetamine possession which occurred on Jan. 22, 2022. He was sentenced to a 30 month Order of Probation. Additionally, Mr. Wilson entered a plea of guilty to Driving While License Suspended which occurred on Dec. 11, 2022 and was sentenced to 10 days incarceration.

June 22

Toni R. Tongay of Greenville, entered a plea of guilty to Driving While License Revoked which occurred on March 17, 2023. She was sentenced to an 18 month Order of Probation.

Sara J. Neer of Greenville, Illinois entered a plea of guilty to Driving Under the Influence of Alcohol which occurred on April 2, 2023. She was sentenced to a 24 month Order of Supervision.

Jason C. Griffin, II of Mulberry Grove, Illinois entered a plea of guilty to Unlawful Consumption of Alcohol which occurred on April 24, 2023. He was sentenced to a 12 month Order of Probation.

June 28

Damonic D. Sanchez of Greenville, admitted to a Violation of an Order of Probation with the original charge being Unlawful Methamphetamine Possession which occurred on June 1, 2021. He was re-sentenced to three years in the Illinois Department of Corrections followed by six months Mandatory Supervised Release. He had previously pleaded guilty on July 22, 2021 and was sentenced to a 24 month Order of Probation. A Petition to Revoke Probation was filed on Feb. 22, 2022. On May 3, 2022, Mr. Sanchez admitted to the Probation Violation and was re-sentenced to a 24 month Order of Probation. A second Petition to Revoke Probation was filed on Feb. 7, 2023.

Travis J. Wiegmann of Keyesport, entered a plea of guilty to an amended charge of Unlawful Methamphetamine Possession of more than five grams but less than 15 grams and Unlawful Possession of Drug Paraphernalia which occurred on March 7, 2023. The original charge was Unlawful Methamphetamine Possession of 15-100 grams. He was sentenced to a First Offender Order of Probation for a term of 24 months for the Methamphetamine charge and a conviction was entered for the paraphernalia charge.

June 29

Johann G. Gehrlein of Greenville, was re-sentenced on a charge of Unlawful Methamphetamine Possession of 15-100 grams. This offense occurred on Nov. 28, 2018. He had previously entered a plea of guilty of Jan. 28, 2019 and was sentenced to an Order of Probation for a term of 48 months. The defendant admitted to violating the Order of Probation and was sentenced again on Aug. 19, 2020 to a 48 month Order of Probation. On Dec. 5, 2022, another Petition to Revoke Probation was filed and a contested sentencing hearing was held on June 29, 2023. He was sentenced to eight years in the Illinois Department of Corrections followed by one year Mandatory Supervised Release.
