“It’s just like horse racing without the jockeys.” That was how Nathan Mewes, treasurer of the Bond County Shrine Club, described the third Shriners’ mouse racing fundraiser.
Saturday night 200 guests crowded the Greenville VFW to pick and bet on their favorite “horses” and bid on a variety of gift items.
Six mice ran in ten separate races, and attendees determined the odds. Each race also featured Mouse Roulette, where winners won $100 if the mouse picked the right card. For more information see the March 21, 2023 edition of The Greenville Advocate.
