Lady Comets sunk by Miners

Just too many turnovers.

Which leads to a lot fewer shot opportunities.

Those two truths of basketball did the Lady Comets in at home in the SCC opener against Gillespie.

Greenville committed 25 turnovers on the night which helped lead to a pair of big second half runs to put the Lady Comets away 48-39 on Nov. 30.

In between those two runs, Gillespie had a dry spell going 0-for-6 from the field to begin the fourth but the Lady Comets just couldn’t cut the deficit enough making only one field goal in that same span. For more information see the December 5, 2023 edition of The Greenville Advocate.
