They continue to make strides.
Over the weekend, the Mulberry Grove High School volleyball team continued to show improvement as they took on some solid competition at the Morrisonville Tournament.
MG went 2-3 at the tournament
Day one, Sept. 29, MG went 2-1 in pool play.
They opened with Springfield (Calvary), beating the Saints 19-25, 25-23, 15-9.
“We didn’t know much about this team, but from what research we did, we saw they had one player with some pretty good stats,” said MG coach Denyse Blankenship. “We saw that they did in fact have one really good player that every play revolved around. Once we caught on to their methods we came back and won. We played to either avoid letting them set up their one good player or shut her down at the net.” For more information see the October 3, 2023 edition of The Greenville Advocate.
