Light Up the Night returns to downtown Greenville for the fourth time on Saturday, April 29.
It’s crazy. But it’s fun. And it raises much-needed money to support the Bond County Fourth Fest in early July.
For $25, runners or walkers or stroller pushers or wagon pullers (you choose) complete a twilight 5K (three mile) course. It begins at 7:30 p.m., just at dusk at 110 West Main Street. Participants get glow bracelets, necklaces, and face and body paint. As they begin, it looks ordinary; but they end the race after the sun goes down and as they come through the black-light chute, they really glow! Of course, all participants get a special t-shirt to commemorate the event.
