Next Thursday, Aug. 3, softball returns to the competitive sports lineup at Greenville Jr. High School.
New coach Jordyn Young has 18 girls in the seventh and eighth grades trying out for the first Bluejays softball squad in a few decades.
“I’m super excited about it,” said Young. “The crazy part about it is that when I was in junior high it was something that I wished for and something we never had. I know that even girls that are moving into high school this year are disappointed and heartbroken to not be a part of this program that leads them into the high school program.
