Tuesday morning at the Smart Center, Rep. Charlie Meier and City Manager JoAnn Hollenkamp updated Chamber of Commerce members at the State of the City breakfast. The Chamber hosts the quarterly event to introduce new members and businesses and to make current members better aware of Greenville activities.

Rep. Meier mentioned several legislative issues relating to his district. He spoke about the Murray Center in Centralia. Illinois is dealing with multiple claims about abuse in such facilities, and Meier takes this to heart. “Just because you’re non-verbal doesn’t mean you should be abused.” He gave examples of residents who improved radically after being transferred to Murray from other places.
