Todays recipe is shared with you by Mary Siebert and her granddaughter, Ellie, of Greenville. Mary was gracious enough to not only share this recipe with us but she also brought The Advocate a peach pie to try. This did not disappoint and we appreciated the tasty pie she shared with us. Thank you Mary!
Growing up
Mary said, “My two sisters and I were fortunate enough and blessed beyond measure to belong in a very tight-knit family where the adults were very patient in answering all of our many questions.” Questions not only about cooking and chores on the farm but also about life.
Being country kids they would walk down the lane to Grandma Lehn’s house on Saturday mornings where they would help her prepare various goodies for the Sunday dinner. Siebert’s mother was also a good cook but “she was no Grandma Lehn.” With three capable girls baking and cooking, their mother didn’t have to.
