Several Bond County residents were featured in the Quilts from the Heart 2023 Quilt Show and Vendor Fair, which took place over the weekend in Belleville. The show was put on by the Hearts ‘n’ Hands Quilt Guild, one of the largest quilt guilds in the St. Louis metropolitan area. The guild meets once a month in O’Fallon.
Library Director Jo Keillor had an entry in the show, a quilt made by Barbara Dyar, titled “Melody of Friendship.” Keillor said she’s fairly new to the guild and began attending 3-4 years ago. This was the first show she’s had a quilt in, but she has attended the show a couple of times. Keillor said she was invited by Dyar, who has four sisters and a niece who are also in the guild.
