Court cases resolved in April

The following cases were prosecuted and resolved by Bond County State’s Attorney Dora J. Mann in the month of April.

March 13

Nicole A. Sugg of Keyesport entered a plea of guilty to the charge of Unlawful Methamphetamine Delivery as part of a partial plea agreement. The case was then set for sentencing on April 26, 2023. After a contested sentencing hearing, Judge Bauer sentenced Nicole A. Sugg to 12 years in the Illinois Department of Corrections followed by 18 months mandatory supervised release. This sentence will be served at 75%.

April 5

Scott K. Baldwin of Highland entered a plea of guilty to Unlawful Possession of Controlled Substance and Domestic Battery, which occurred on June 15, 2022, and was sentenced to a 24 month Order of Probation for the Controlled Substance charge and an 18-month Order of Probation on the Domestic Battery charge. Baldwin also entered a plea of guilty to four separate charges of Violation of an Order of Protection which occurred on July 30, 2022, Aug. 12, 2022, Dec. 31, 2022, and Jan. 5, 2023, in which he was sentenced to an 18-month Order Of Probation which will run concurrent to the other Probation Order.

April 10

Charlene M. Giles of Sorento admitted to a Violation of an Order of Probation which occurred on Nov. 3, 2021. Giles previously pled guilty on March 16, 2022 and was sentenced to 24 months probation. A Petition to Revoke Probation was filed on February 10, 2023. After an admission to the allegations contained in the Petition to Revoke, Giles was re-sentenced and was sentenced to 4 years in the Illinois Department of Corrections followed by 1-year mandatory supervised release. Additionally, on April 10, 2023, Ms. Giles entered a plea of guilty in the charge of Defrauding a Drug Screen Test, which occurred on March 21, 2023, and was sentenced to 4 years in the Illinois Department of Corrections followed by 6 months mandatory supervised release, with this sentence to be served concurrently with the first one.

April 12

Nicole L. Broadhurst of Greenville entered a plea of guilty to the charge of Unlawful Methamphetamine Possession which occurred on March 2, 2023. She was sentenced to a 24-month First Offender Order of Probation.

April 19

Melissa J. Sullivan Suzuki of Greenville entered a plea of guilty to the charge of Retail Theft — Enhanced Offense and Criminal Trespass to Real Property which occurred on February 14, 2023. She was sentenced to a 24-month Order of Probation.

April 26

Ryan C. Wehrle of Pierron entered a plea of guilty to the charge of Domestic Battery which occurred on April 21, 2023. He was sentenced to a 12-month Order of Probation.
