Lead-off man Drew Frey had two hits and three RBIs in the seventh and eighth innings, and the two-hitter George Schneider blasted a three-run homer to left in the eighth to propel GU back to the .500 mark with an 8-2 win and SLIAC conference sweep at Eureka on April 15.

The win gives the Panthers a 14-14 record, including 8-4 in SLIAC play. They are one game behind Webster for third place. Spalding at 10-2 is alone atop the standings. Eureka fell to 6-20 and 4-11 in loop play.

The Panthers had scuffed along during the first six innings, getting two runs on only five hits before the bats came alive in the seventh. For more information see the April 18, 2023 edition of The Greenville Advocate.
