Tennis Comets beat Hillsboro, lose to T-Town

It was a 9-0 sweep by the Greenville High School tennis team at Hillsboro on Tuesday afternoon.

The win took the sting away from a pair of shutout losses to Highland and Teutopolis in the previous two matches. Their response to those losses was exactly what GHS tennis coach Sean Courty expected from his team.

“I wanted the guys to come out with a different mindset: play to win,” said Courty. “Too often, I think we find ourselves playing not to lose. In this match, I think they did a nice job of coming out aggressive with a willingness to take some risks and adapt their strategies if needed. As a team, we will look to push this mindset forward to future matches.” For more information see the April 14, 2023 edition of The Greenville Advocate.
