The Rotary eClub of Central Illinois made a donation to the Weekend Backpack Program at the Greenville Elementary on Monday. The group donated food as well as money.
The Rotary eClub of Central Illinois is reported to possibly be the only online rotary club in the state. Trent West said this was the first time the group had donated to the program. Alice Hulvey heard of the program and brought it to the club’s attention to see if they wanted to participate. West said they had quite a few members bring and donate items. He added that it’s hard to believe these days that there are kids that don’t have food when they go home and that the club wanted to chip in.
