Court cases resolved for the month of March

The following cases were prosecuted and resolved by Bond County State’s Attorney Dora J. Mann in March.

March 1

Marcus M. Walker, of Greenville, entered a plea of guilty to the charge of Unlawful Possession of Methamphetamine, which occurred on January 5. He was sentenced to a 24 month Order of Probation.

Oliver E. Kangas, of Pocahontas, entered a plea of guilty to the charge of Theft Over $500, which occurred on Sept. 13, 2022. He was sentenced to a 24 month 2nd Chance Order of Probation.

March 2

John F. Etcheson, of Greenville, entered a plea of guilty to the charge of Unlawful Possession of Methamphetamine, which occurred on Jan. 27. He was sentenced to a 24 month Order of Probation and 80 days in the Bond County Jail.

Nathan M. Blankenship, of Keyesport,entered a plea of guilty to the charge of Unlawful Methamphetamine Delivery and Unlawful Possession of Controlled Substance (Cocaine) with the Intent to Deliver, which occurred on March 7. He was sentenced to 8 years in the Illinois Department of Corrections followed by 1 year Mandatory Supervised Release.

March 8

Kortney R. Matthews, of Highland, entered a plea of guilty to two charges of Residential Burglary. The first charge occurred on April 16, 2020, the second charge occurred on November 16, 2021. She was sentenced to a 48 month Order of Probation which will run concurrently on both cases.

Jessica R. Burnett, of Gillespie, entered a plea of guilty to the charge of Unlawful Possession of Methamphetamine which occurred on June 28, 2022 and to a Retail Theft charge which occurred on October 2, 2022. She was sentenced to a 24 month Order of Probation which will run concurrently on both cases.

Bobby L. Watson, of Chicago, entered a plea of guilty to the charge of Unlawful Failure to Register as a Sex Offender which occurred on September 13, 2022. He was sentenced to 3 years in the Illinois Department of Corrections followed by 1 year Mandatory Supervised Release.

James C. Willis, of Mulberry Grove, admitted to a Violation of a Order of Probation with the original charge being Unlawful Methamphetamine Possession which occurred on February 2, 2022. Mr. Willis previously pleaded guilty on February 14, 2022 and was sentenced to 24 months Probation. A Petition to Revoke Probation was filed on March 1, 2023. After an admission

to the allegations contained in the Petition to Revoke, Mr. Willis was re-sentenced and was sentenced to 4 years in the Illinois Department of Corrections followed by 6 months Mandatory Supervised Release.

March 9

Floyd E. Garrison, of Hillsboro, entered a plea of guilty to Unlawful Methamphetamine Possession, Theft Over $500.00 and Possession of Burglary Tools which occurred on

May 23, 2022. He was sentenced to 5 years in the Illinois Department of Corrections followed by 6 months Mandatory Supervised Release.

March 13

Tyler J. Ohren, of Sorento, entered a plea of guilty to a charge of Methamphetamine Delivery which occurred on August 18, 2022, a charge of Unlawful Methamphetamine Possession which occurred on November 4, 2022, and a charge of Unlawful Methamphetamine Possession which occurred on November 22, 2022. He was sentenced to 2 years in the Illinois Department of Corrections for each charge with the sentence to be served concurrently, followed by 6 months Mandatory Supervised Release.

March 15

Derek D. Hrabusicky, of Greenville, entered a plea of guilty to a charge of Escape which occurred on March 11, 2022. He was sentenced to 3 years in the Illinois Department

of Corrections followed by 6 months Mandatory Supervised Release. This sentence is consecutive to the 3 year sentence he is currently serving on a separate Bond County charge.

Douglas F. Tucker, of Pocahontas, entered a plea of guilty to a charge of

Unlawful Methamphetamine Possession and Unlawful Possession of Hypodermic Syringe which

occurred on October 20, 2022. He was sentenced to a 24 month Order of Probation.

Christopher J. Lamacchia, of Smithboro, entered a plea of guilty to a charge of Resisting a Peace Officer which occurred on February 1, 2022. He was sentenced to a 24 month Order of Probation.

March 22

Zachary M. Cummins, of Greenville, entered a plea of guilty to a charge of Unlawful Methamphetamine Possession which occurred on March 3. He was sentenced to a 24 month First Offender Order of Probation.

Isaac E. Kuepfer, of Greenville, entered a plea of guilty to two charges of Unlawful Methamphetamine Possession, which the first charge occurred on January 15 and the second charge occurred on February 11. In both cases, he was sentenced to a 24 month First Offender Order of Probation which will run concurrent.

March 27

Deyondri M. Joy, of Centralia, entered a plea of guilty to two charges of Falsely Making a Terrorist Threat which took place at the Greenville University on February 14 and February 15. Mr. Joy was sentenced to 6 years in the Illinois Department of Corrections for each charge, with the sentence to be served concurrently, followed by 1 Mandatory Supervised Release. By agreement of the parties, Mr. Joy was recommended to the Illinois Department of Corrections impact program, if successfully completed, his sentence could be reduced to 12 to 18 months.
