It was a tough night for the Greenville High School girls soccer team on Wednesday.

They dropped a 1-0 decision to Auburn when the Trojans scored a goal with 12 minutes to play in their opening game of the Purple Panther Classic in Litchfield.

“This one stings a bit because the girls put in so much good work and deserved to get something out of this game,” said GHS coach Chris Swift. “Georgia (Sussenbach) played really well for us in the back, Ellyn (Miller) kept us organized, and Ainsley Olson was in the right place at the right time, but the bounces aren’t going our way at the moment. We are going to keep working hard to create our own luck and turn these 1-0 losses into 1-0 wins.” For more information see the March 31, 2023 edition of The Greenville Advocate.
