Learning to deal with adversity is crucial to athletics.
This week at the Route 66 Classic in Carlinville, GHS coach Chris Swift and his Lady Comets faced plenty of it, especially in the final game against Virden (North Mac).
GHS recorded their third 3-2 penalty kick victory Saturday morning.
“Today was a lesson in overcoming adversity,” said Swift. “Missing a couple of key pieces and going down an early goal, the girls fought their way back into the game and earned a win.
