The Greenville Junior High Music Department and the Pocahontas Band competed in the District Illinois Grade School Music Association solo and ensemble contest on Saturday, Feb. 25 at Highland Middle school.
The students, under the direction of Ryan Thomason of GJHS, received 17 superior ratings (the high score), 33 First place (excellent), four second place (good), and one third.
Covid prevented the students from participating in in-person solo and ensemble contests since 2019. This event was a great learning opportunity for the students to learn what they did well, and how to improve in the future.
