Game two went significantly better.

The top three hitters in the order went 7 for 9 with three doubles and six RBIs to lead the Panthers to a 9-2 win over the University of Wisconsin-Platteville and gain a doubleheader split Friday afternoon at Ish Smith Field.

GU — now 3-5 on the year — lost 6-0 to UWP (1-4) in the opener.

“It’s hard to say enough about what George (Schneider) and Landon (Mokris) are doing so far this year,” said lead-off man Drew Frey about the two and three hitters in the Panther lineup. “They both have put in an unbelievable amount of work over the years and off-seasons, and it’s great to see it paying off. I’m excited to see what we’ll be able to do this season.” For more information see the March 14, 2023 edition of The Greenville Advocate.
