City of Greenville leaf vacuum program and compost availability

The City of Greenville’s leaf vacuuming program will run from Monday, March 13, through Friday, April 14, (weather permitting).

Residents are asked to rake their leaves to the edge of the curb or edge of the road so the vacuum can reach them. Please keep piles no higher than three feet and make sure sticks, brush and other debris are not in the piles as it could cause the machine to malfunction. The city of Greenville will compost the leaves and offer them back to residents.

You can also set your paper bagged leaves out, and the city of Greenville will pick them up if you call and make a request.

Residents may also obtain compost from the city of Greenville Public Works location at 1307 South Fourth Street starting Wednesday, April 5, from 7 a.m.-noon. Public Works will load on Wednesdays and Fridays from 7 a.m.-noon until the compost runs out. Residents may pick up compost at any other time, 24/7, but will need to load it themselves.
