Mulberry Grove basketball players receive all-conference awards

Three girls from the Ramsey-Mulberry Grove girls basketball team, sophomores Jenni Mezo, Kelsey Hayes, and Lillie Eddy, were recently selected to the Egyptian-Illini all-conference squad.

“These three worked hard all year and any game they weren’t playing we were not the same team,” said RMG coach Misty Mezo. “I cannot wait to see how these three and the rest play next year and their senior year.”

J. Mezo was on the second team. She had 24 points, 16 rebounds, and six steals in EIC play. Overall she had 160 points 75 rebounds, 39 steals, and nine blocks.

Hayes was also a second-team selection. She had 20 rebounds and eight steals in loop action. She ended up leading RMG in rebounding with 124 and added 40 points along with 27 steals.

Eddy received Honorable Mention. She had 22 points and 12 rebounds in EIC games. She led the team with 179 points and collected 74 boards.

Epperson All-EIC

Arjan Epperson was selected for the boys all-EIC team. He is listed as a second-team performer.
