As part of the largest round of Open Space Land Acquisition and Development (OSLAD) grants in the program’s 36-year history, the Kingsbury Park District was selected to receive a $600,000 grant.

Park District Director Jerry Sauerwein Jr. told The Advocate that the grant was for improvements to the William S. Wait Park, where the William “Bill” Davidson Pool Complex is located. The grant will be for pickleball courts, new playground equipment, a dog park and a couple of concrete bags for cornhole, and ADA-compliant sidewalks. They will also redo the area where the soccer fields are located. For more information see the March 3, 2023 edition of The Greenville Advocate.
