GU women’s gymnastics tops Simpson

On Saturday, Feb. 11, the Panthers traveled to Iowa to take on Simpson and outscored them 184.025 to 181.850.

Despite falling behind after the first rotation, Greenville took a .025 lead going into the third event.

Greenville then extended their lead to 137.100-135.975 going into the final rotation.

The Panthers secured another win 184.025-181.850.

In the bars, Sidnei Heubach scored highest for Greenville with a 9.300.

Ellery Gilmer posted a 9.500 in the vault, followed closely by Rachel Miller with a 9.350 and Reagan Rodriguez with a 9.300.

In the floor routine, Miller scored a 9.550 with Gilmer close behind with a 9.475.

Finishing up with the beam, Amara Nelson and Molly Froman both posted scores of 9.600. Aaliyah Saucedo also performed well on the beam with a 9.425.

The Panthers will be back in action on Saturday, Feb. 25, at home against Southeast Missouri State at 7 pm.
