Charges filed in case of attempted homicide

Charges have been filed in a case of attempted homicide that recently occurred in Bond County.

Austin R. Davis, 24, of Pocahontas has been charged with attempted First-Degree Murder. The charge alleges that on or about Feb. 19, Davis “performed a substantial step toward the commission of the offense of First-Degree Murder, in that the said defendant, without lawful justification and with the intent to kill Kayla R. Horton, attempted to confine” Horton in a burning residence. This charge is a Class X Felony. For more information see the February 24, 2023 edition of The Greenville Advocate.
