At their last meeting, Character Education honored Jay Young, who was an integral part of the program.
Jay Young, one of nine children, was born in Kentucky, where he spent his first 5 years before being adopted by Chafin R. and Oradelle (Anthony) Young and moving to Greenville at the age of 9. Young was a student at Bond County Unit 2 school district and later became a teacher and administrator. He retired in 2004 and served 12 years on the school board.
