State Representative Blaine Wilhour visited The Advocate Monday morning to discuss various issues, including opposing Democrat’s latest tax hike proposals, the recent assault weapons ban, and redistricting.

Wilhour, going into his third term, has been happy to serve Bond County for the last four years. He said the redistricting process affected a lot of counties and Bond County is one of them. There are now two representatives for the county. “I’ve got Mulberry Grove and kind of that side of 127 and Charlie Meier’s got most of Greenville here,” Wilhour explained. He said it’s a sprawling rural Illinois district and while he was able to retain some areas from his previous district, he also lost some things as well.
