The Lady Comets came away with a 29-21 win at Centralia (Christ Our Rock Lutheran) on Jan. 28.
Emma Veith and Kylie Doll had seven points each. Ady Bearley had five markers.
GHS won at Carlinville 30-15 on Jan. 26 with Haylee Hediger scoring six points and Veith tossing in five.
Freshman games:
The freshman girls played a doubleheader at Hillsboro on Jan. 28.
In their first contest, they were soundly defeated by the host school, 63-22.
Ella Kleiner had 10 points including a pair of 3-pointers and four rebounds. Veith had five while Ava Potthast, Keeleigh Valleroy and Breanna McCray had two each.
In their second game, they beat Breese (Central) 35-34 when Potthast buried a three with five seconds remaining.
She had 10 points and eight rebounds. Kleiner had 11 points with three makes from long-distance and nine boards.
Veith scored five and Haylee Clark had three points and seven rebounds. Hediger, McCray, and Ava Manhart had two points each.
