A pair of blocked shots just before the half helped stem the tide.
Piasa (Southwestern) cut an early nine-point deficit down to two with 19 seconds to go before halftime.
But consecutive blocks by Cale Ackerman and Hudson Alstat prevented any SW points and propelled the GHS boys basketball team from a 20-18 lead at the break to a 58-44 win Friday night on the road.
