On Dec. 29, 2022 Tristine J. Hampton, of Taylor Springs, was sentenced to the Illinois Department of Corrections for Controlled Substance related offenses on Dec. 29, 2022. Hampton pled guilty to one count of controlled substance trafficking, a class 1 felony and was sentenced to serve eight years in prison (to be served at 75%). Upon her release, she will serve a three-year term of mandatory supervised release. Hampton also pled guilty to two counts of bringing contraband into a penal institution, a class 1 felony, and one count of aggravated battery.She was sentenced to serve five years in prison for each count (to be served at 50%). The second and third sentences will run consecutive to the sentence in the controlled substance trafficking charge, but concurrent with each other, for a total sentence of thirteen years in the Illinois Department of Corrections.
