According to preliminary data released by the Illinois Department of Employment Security (IDES) and the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS), the unemployment rate increased 0.1 percentage points to 4.7% in November. Nonfarm payrolls increased by 17,500. The October monthly change in payrolls was revised from the preliminary report, from 3,600 to 7,200 jobs, while the unemployment rate was unchanged, remaining at 4.6%.
