According to preliminary data announced by the Illinois Department of Employment Security (IDES) and provided by the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS), the unemployment rate increased by +0.1 percentage points to 4.6 percent in October. Nonfarm payrolls increased by +3,600 in October. The September monthly change in payrolls was revised from the previous report, from +14,500 to +14,100 jobs, while the September unemployment rate remained unchanged at 4.5 percent.
